This week, we learned about the Guelph Neighbourhood Support Coalition (GNSC) and the North End Harvest Market (NEHM). Our guests were Brendan Johnson, Executive Director of the GNSC and Barb McPhee, Market Manager and Volunteer Coordinator of the North End Harvest Market.
The GNSC is comprised of 13 neighbourhood groups, sponsoring agencies, and program partners. The goal is to collaborate, advocate, and share information and collective resources to meet specific community needs.
The NEHM is a GNSC program. It relies entirely on grants, donations, and fundraising campaigns to provide healthy food to those in need. Low income families and individuals may access market produce every two weeks.
